Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending August 11, 2023, the US rotary rig count declined by five rigs to 654.
The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by five to 123, while the number of rigs drilling for oil remained steady at 525. The overall US rig count is down by 109 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by two to 190 rigs in the week ending August 11. The Canadian rig count is down by 11 rigs compared to the same reporting period last year.
