Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending August 3, the US rotary rig count decreased by four to 1,044 rigs following a two-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by three to 183 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by two to 859. The overall rig count is now up by 90 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count stayed level at 223 rigs in the week ending August 3, following a 12-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by six rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
