Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 21, the US rotary rig count decreased by two to 967 rigs following a six-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by four to 177, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by one to 789. The overall rig count is now down by 85 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 12 to 119 rigs in the week ending June 21, following a four-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 41 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
