US OCTG imports up 2.9 percent in April

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 309,889 mt in April 2023, up 2.9 percent from March and up 51.4 percent from April 2022 levels. By value, OCTG imports totaled $652.5 million in April 2023, compared to $617.5 million in March and $361.8 million in April 2022.

The US imported the most OCTG from South Korea in April, with 49,202 mt, compared to 57,002 mt in March and 67,693 mt in April 2022. Other top sources of imported OCTG in April include Thailand, with 31,494 mt; Italy with 25,578 mt; Canada, with 24,113 mt; and Japan, with 22,305 mt.
