US OCTG imports down 19.4 percent in February

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 231,586 mt in February 2023, down 19.4 percent from January but up 50.5 percent from February 2022 levels. By value, OCTG imports totaled $500.3 million in February 2023, compared to $586.8 million in January and $266.9 million in February 2022.

The US imported the most OCTG from South Korea in February, with 54,780 mt, compared to 35,638 mt in January and 44,255 mt in February 2022. Other top sources of imported OCTG in February include Canada, with 22,999 mt; Taiwan, with 21,725 mt; Mexico, with 19,839 mt; and Japan, with 19,775 mt.
