US OCTG exports down 7.1 percent in May

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 26,652 mt in May 2018, down 7.1 percent from April and down 16.3 percent from May 2017 levels. By value, OCTG exports totaled $50.2 million in May, compared to $46.4 million in the previous month and $80.8 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in May with 17,293 mt, compared to 18,747 mt in April and 24,328 mt in May 2017. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 2,491 mt; Spain, with 1,754 mt; and United Kingdom, with 1,222 mt.
