US line pipe imports down 9.7 percent in February

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of line pipe totaled 63,819 mt in February 2023, down 9.7 percent from January but up 17.4 percent from February 2022 levels. By value, line pipe imports totaled $123.1 million in February 2023, compared to $130.7 million in January and $82.4 million in February 2022.

The US imported the most line pipe from South Korea in February, with 39,399 mt, compared to 20,566 mt in January and 26,462 mt in February 2022. Other top sources of imported line pipe in February include Mexico, with 6,445 mt; Italy, with 3,526 mt; South Africa, with 3,155 mt; and India, with 2,749 mt.
