US line pipe imports down 22.1 percent in July

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of line pipe totaled 59,551 mt in July 2023, down 22.1 percent from June and down 8.9 percent from July 2022 levels. By value, line pipe imports totaled $103.6 million in July 2023, compared to $107.3 million in June and $112.3 million in July 2022.

The US imported the most line pipe from South Korea in July, with 31,198 mt, compared to 12,621 mt in June and 27,869 in July 2022. Other top sources of imported line pipe in July include Mexico, with 6,889 mt; Canada, with 5,021 mt; South Africa, with 3,485 mt; and United Kingdom, with 3,464 mt.
