US line pipe exports down 8.3 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of line pipe totaled 5,804 mt in April 2020, down 8.3 percent from March but up 71.6 percent from April 2019 levels. By value, line pipe exports totaled $10.1 million in April, compared to $9.6 million in the previous month and $7.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most line pipe to Canada in April with 3,044 mt, compared to 5,294 mt in March and 1,939 mt in April 2019. Other top destinations included Netherlands, with 1,199 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US line pipe exports in April.
