On September 29, 2006, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) initiated an administrative review of the antidumping duty order on OCTG pipes from Japan. The review covered the period from August 1, 2005, through July 31, 2006. Japanese producers JFE Steel Corporation (JFE), Nippon Steel Corporation (Nippon), NKK Tubes (NKK), and Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. (SMI) were subject to the review.

In the preliminarily results dated May 2, 2007, the DOC determined that all four companies had no reviewable sales of the subject merchandise to the US during the period of review. Accordingly, the DOC published its preliminary intent to rescind the administrative review of the antidumping duty order on the subject merchandise from Japan.

Upon receiving no comment on the preliminary results, the DOC has decided to rescind the review with respect to the four Japanese producers.
