The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced on December 31, 2008 the initiation of a new shipper review of the antidumping duty on circular welded non-alloy steel pipe from South Korea.

Following the receipt by the DOC on November 28, 2008 of a request for a new shipper review of the antidumping duty order on circular welded non-alloy steel pipe from South Korea, the DOC is initiating a new shipper review of the antidumping order against A-JU Besteel Co. Ltd (Ajubesteel) for the period November 1, 2007 through October 31, 2008.

The DOC intends to issue the preliminary results of this review no later than 180 days after the date on which the review is initiated, and the final results within 90 days after the date on which the preliminary results are issued.

Accordingly, importers of the subject merchandise manufactured and exported by Ajubesteel must continue to pay a cash deposit of estimated antidumping duties on each entry of subject merchandise at the current all-others rate of 4.80 percent according to the final results of the administrative review for circular welded non-alloy steel pipe from South Korea released on June 10, 2004.
