US CRC imports rise 25.3 percent in November

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled sheets totaled 237,410 mt in November, up 25.3 percent from October and up 86.1 percent from November 2015 levels. By value, CRC imports totaled $157.8 million in November 2016, compared to $135.1 million in the previous month and $97.5 million in the same month last year.
 
The US imported the most CRC from Vietnam in November, with 56,794 mt, compared to 35,912 mt in October and 4,488 mt in November 2015. Other top sources of imported CRC in November include Turkey, with 42,943 mt; Mexico, with 32,422 mt; Canada, with 26,634 mt; and Australia, with 19,483 mt.
