US CRC imports fall 12.3 percent in February

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled sheets totaled 180,786 mt in February 2017, down 12.3 percent from January but up 30.6 percent from February 2016 levels. By value, CRC imports totaled $123.9 million in February 2017, compared to $147.5 million in the previous month and $89.8 million in the same month last year.
 
The US imported the most CRC from Turkey in February, with 35,829 mt, compared to 30,116 mt in January and 11,248 mt in February 2016. Other top sources of imported CRC in February include Canada, with 28,819 mt; Vietnam, with 22,250 mt; Australia, with 20,470 mt; Mexico, with 18,784 mt; and Sweden, with 11,598 mt.
