Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending August 13, the US rotary rig count increased by nine to 500 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 102, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by 10 to 397. The overall rig count is now up by 256 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by eight to 164 rigs in the week ending August 13. The Canadian rig count is now up by 110 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
