Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending October 15, the US rotary rig count increased by 10 to 543 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas declined by one to 98, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by 12 to 445. The overall rig count is now up by 261 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by one to 168 rigs in the week ending October 15. The Canadian rig count is now up by 88 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
