Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending August 18, 2023, the US rotary rig count declined by 12 rigs to 642.
The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by six to 117, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by five to 520. The overall US rig count is down by 120 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by one to 189 rigs in the week ending August 18. The Canadian rig count is down by 12 rigs compared to the same reporting period last year.
