Ukrainian iron ore miners up sales by eight percent in January-April

In January-April of the current year, Ukrainian mining companies sold 23,562 million mt of iron ore, up 8.2 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.

In January-April this year, deliveries to the domestic market increased by 7.2 percent year on year, to 12.586 million mt, including 2.316 million mt of iron non-sintered ore, 6.265 million mt of concentrate, 530,000 mt of agglomerate, and 3.475 million mt of pellets.

In the first four months of 2011, exports of Ukrainian iron ore products rose by 9.4 percent year on year, to 10.976 million mt. During the period in question, Ukrainian companies imported 486,600 mt of iron ore products, down 59 percent compared to the same period last year.
