Ukraine's production for January-April period
According to the data released by the Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine, in January-April 2006, the country's production of pig iron decreased 3 percent to 10.296 million tons, that of crude steel decreased 2 percent to 12.785 million tons, that of agglomerate decreased 4 percent to 15.517 million tons, that of pellets decreased 3 percent to 6.002 million tons and that of manganese ore decreased 46 percent to 336,000 tons from the analogical period of the last year. The production of finished steel products during the given period remained at approximately the same level as last year that is 10.860 million tons (in January-April 2005 the production of finished steel products was 10.818 million tons). On the other hand, in January-April 2006, the productions of pipes and iron ore in Ukraine increased 5 percent and 1 percent respectively to 760,000 tons and 23.112 million tons from January-April 2005. The production of concentrate rose 1 percent to 17.772 million tons at the same period.
