In December last year, Ukraine’s pig iron output amounted to 565,400 mt, up by 4.1 percent month on month and by 1.6 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Ukrainian Steel Association Ukrmetallurgprom.
In the given month, the country’s crude steel production rose by 1.1 percent compared to the previous month and by 5.1 percent year on year to 547,000 mt, while its rolled steel production came to 480,800 mt, moving up by 0.8 percent month on month and down by 5.4 percent from the same month last year.
Meanwhile, in 2024, Ukraine produced 7.09 million mt of pig iron, up by 18.1 percent year on year, while its crude steel production in the given period totaled 7.58 million, growing by 21.6 percent, and rolled steel production was 6.22 million mt, rising by 15.8 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
