Ukraine foresees higher average daily steel output in February

According to the forecasts of Ukraine's Ministry of Industrial Policy, in February 2009 the average daily steel output of Ukrainian steelmakers will increase to 71,300-73,700 mt, up 8-10 percent or 5,280-6,670 mt compared to the daily figure for January.

In January, Ukraine's average daily steel output registered an increase of ten percent compared with December 2008, amounting to 66,000-67,000 mt.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom predicts that total national steel output in February will reach 2.7 million mt.
