Ukraine expected to produce 2.74 million mt of crude steel in December

According to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in December this year Ukraine's crude steel production is expected to increase by 4.6 percent compared to October to 2.740 million mt.

According to Metallurgprom's forecast, in December pig iron output in Ukraine will total 2.540 million mt, up six percent compared to the October results, while Ukrainian production of rolled steel is expected to total 2.480 million mt, up 4.1 percent compared to October.

In December this year, domestic steelmakers will need 610,000 mt of sintering ore, 1.6 million mt of concentrate, 440,000 mt of agglomerate, 730,000 mt of pellets, 945,000 mt of limestone, 1.23 million mt of metallurgical coke and 430,000 mt of steel scrap in order to ensure the planned volumes of production in the given month.

In November, Ukrainian companies plan to produce 2.560 million mt of crude steel, 2.360 million mt of pig iron and 2.310 million mt of rolled steel.
