As part of its efforts to strengthen the Turkish steel sector’s international cooperation, the Turkish Steel Exporters’ Association (ÇİB) organized a sectoral trade delegation to Slovakia. During the event held in Bratislava on May 19, representatives from 16 Turkish companies and 28 companies from Slovakia and neighboring countries came together. A total of 140 bilateral business meetings were held within the scope of the program.

The trade delegation is considered important in terms of improving the Turkish steel sector’s commercial relations in the Central European market and establishing new business connections.

Brazil market becomes the next target

Meanwhile, according to a statement from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), a trade delegation to Brazil will be organized between August 18-22, 2026, under the coordination of the Ministry of Trade and organized by TİM. Within the scope of the event, which will cover the city of São Paulo, Brazilian business representatives will be invited to hold qualified business meetings with Turkish companies.

It is stated that the Turkish steel sector has recently increased its commercial activities toward alternative markets outside Europe, with Latin America standing out among the key target regions.
