Turkey's CR sheet imports down 11.43 percent in 2013

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year Turkey's cold rolled sheet imports totaled 263 metric tons, increasing by 75.33 percent compared to same month of 2012 and down 87.55 percent month on month. The value of these imports was $305,271 increasing by 134.57 percent year on year and down 80.49 percent month on month.

In the whole of last year, Turkey's CR sheet imports amounted to 12,909 metric tons, decreasing by 11.43 percent, with a value of $8.88 million, down 18.55 percent, both year on year.

Meanwhile last year, Turkey's CR sheet imports from Ukraine recorded a strong rise of 51.70 percent year on year, reaching 5,270 metric tons. Ukraine was thus Turkey's leading CR sheet import source in the given year, ahead of Slovakia and Sweden which saw 24.01 percent and 80.71 percent year-on-year increases respectively in their CR sheet exports to Turkey. On the other hand, Romania, which was the biggest CR sheet import source for Turkey in 2012, saw a strong fall of 84.60 percent in its CR sheet exports to Turkey last year.
