Turkey's CR sheet imports down 12.34 percent in Jan-Nov

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November last year Turkey's cold rolled sheet imports totaled 2,112 metric tons, increasing by 53.71 percent compared to same month of 2012 and up 106.05 percent month on month. The value of these imports was $1.56 million, increasing by 58.80 percent year on year and up 130.08 percent month on month.

In the first 11 months of 2013, Turkey's CR sheet imports amounted to 12,645 metric tons, decreasing by 12.34 percent, with a value of $8.58 million, down 20.40 percent, both year on year.

In the January-November period of last year, Turkey's CR sheet imports from Ukraine recorded a strong rise of 51.70 percent year on year, reaching 5,270 metric tons. Ukraine was thus Turkey's leading CR sheet import source in the given period, ahead of Slovakia. Meanwhile, Romania, which was the biggest CR sheet import source for Turkey in the first 11 months of 2012, saw a strong fall in its CR sheet exports to Turkey in the corresponding period of last year.
