According to the figures released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year the domestic producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general increased by 0.48 percent compared to January and was up by 9.26 percent year on year, while an average rise of 14.18 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.
In February this year, the domestic PPI for Turkey's basic metal industry advanced by 2.3 percent on month-on-month basis and were up by 4.43 percent compared to the same month of 2019. Meanwhile, the average increase in prices in the latest 12 months was 3.53 percent.
On the other hand, in February this year, the domestic PPI for Turkish manufacture of metal products, except machinery rose by 1.13 percent compared to January and were up by 7.56 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 12.2 percent in the PPI index was registered for the latest 12 months.
