Turkish HRC import volume up nine percent in January-September

In September this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports increased by 61.4 percent year on year to 373,497 metric tons, up 15.5 percent compared to August, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $185.5 million, rising by 18.5 percent month on month and up 95 percent year on year.

In the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 3.11 million mt, up nine percent, while the value of these imports increased by 50.8 percent to $1.54 billion, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 1,707,217 mt, up 47.4 percent year on year, followed by France which shipped 344,402 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
