Turkish HRC import volume up 12.8 percent in January-October

In October this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports increased by 57.4 percent year on year to 384,825 metric tons, up three percent compared to September, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $201.75 million, rising by 8.76 percent month on month and up 99.7 percent year on year.

In the first ten months of the current year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 3.5 million mt, up 12.8 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 56 percent to $1.75 billion, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 1,821,157 mt, up 38.97 percent year on year, followed by France which shipped 381,955 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
