Turkish HRC import volume down 23.5 percent in January

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year Turkey's hot rolled coil (HRC) imports decreased by 23.5 percent year on year to 284,705 metric tons, up 75.4 percent compared to December 2018. The revenue from these imports amounted to $159.3 million, up 70.2 percent month on month and decreasing by 24.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.


In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 171,262 mt, up 18.9 percent year on year, followed by the Netherlands which shipped 31,291 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
