In December last year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports decreased by 46.33 percent year on year to 162,309 metric tons, up 13.9 percent compared to November, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $93.6 million, rising by 6.7 percent month on month and down 46.8 percent year on year.
Last year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 3.4 million mt, down 18.7 percent, while the value of these imports decreased by 3.4 percent to $2.06 billion, both year on year.
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 1,511,723 mt, down 26.25 percent year on year, followed by Ukraine which shipped 471,402 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
