In December 2014, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 39.7 percent year on year to 176,436 metric tons, while rising by 112.4 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $100.14 million, increasing by 38.5 percent year on year and up 96.2 percent compared to November.
Meanwhile, in 2014, Turkey's HRC exports decreased by 1.95 percent to 1.3 million mt, while the value of these exports fell 2.8 percent to $761 million, both on year-on-year basis.
In 2014, the US ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, increasing its HRC imports from Turkey by six-fold (up 569.5 percent) year on year to 433,819 mt, while Turkey's HRC exports to Canada, increased from 49 mt to 139,693 mt, year on year. In December alone, USA ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, receiving 127,641 mt.
