Turkey’s steel pipe exports up 4.62 percent in Jan-Sept

According to the statistics provided by the Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers Association (CEBID), in the first nine months of this year Turkey's steel pipe exports registered an annual growth of 4.62 percent, rising to 1.4 million mt. In the given period, the value of these exports decreased slightly by 0.08 percent on year-on-year basis to $1.25 billion.
 
In the January-September period of the current year, the largest export markets for Turkish steel pipes were Iraq, the US and Algeria. Exports to Iraq increased by 19.4 percent to $262.9 million, while the exports to the US declined by 22 percent to $165.8 million, both year on year.
 
In September this year, Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 173,000 metric tons, increasing by 6.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and up 14.4 percent compared to August. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $150 million, up 1.2 percent compared to September 2012 but falling 0.7 percent month on month.
