According to the statistics provided by the Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers Association (CEBID), in the first 10 months of this year Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 1.48 million metric tons, increasing by 9.2 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $1.35 billion, up by 0.4 percent compared to January-October 2011.
According to CEBID, falling raw material prices worldwide have been reflected in steel pipe prices, as in all steel product prices. In the January-October period of the year, the average export price of steel pipe from Turkey fell to $914/mt FOB, down eight percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the first 10 months, Turkey's biggest destinations for steel pipe exports were Iraq, the US and the UK.
Meanwhile, the decreases in steel imports due to the continuous economic crisis in the EU led Turkey to balance its steel pipe exports, increasing its shipments to the markets of America and the Middle East.
In October this year, Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 164.996 metric tons, surging by 12.5 percent year on year and up 0.9 percent compared to September, while the revenue from these exports totaled $148.8 million, rising 2.9 percent compared to October 2011.
