According to the statistics provided by the Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers Association (CEBID), in the first 11 months of this year Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 1.7 million metric tons, increasing by 13.9 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $1.6 billion, up by 4.5 percent compared to January-November 2011.
According to CEBID, of the total steel pipe exports of Turkey in the period in question, 1,68 million mt consisted of welded pipes. Meanwhile, steel pipe accounted for 9.4 percent of Turkey's total steel exports in the given period.
In the first 11 months, Turkey's biggest destinations for its steel pipe exports were Iraq, the US and the UK. Meanwhile, significant increases in Turkey's steel pipe shipments to Algeria, Poland, Azerbaijan and Georgia were recorded in the January-November period of 2012.
In November this year, Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 203,000 metric tons, constituting a record monthly volume to date in the current year, up 58.2 percent year on year and rising by 23 percent compared to October, while the revenue from these exports totaled $180.8 million, rising 36.6 percent compared to November 2011.
In October this year, Turkey's steel pipe exports had amounted to 165,000 mt with revenue of $148.8 million. CEBID noted that in November a recovery tendency was observed in Turkey's steel pipe exports to the EU.
