Turkey’s pig iron imports down 2.4 percent in Nov from Oct

According to the customs statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November 2011 Turkey's pig iron imports amounted to 86,000 metric tons, decreasing by 2.4 percent as compared to the previous month and up 22.3 percent compared to the same month of 2010.
 
In the January-November period of 2011, Turkey imported 955,918 mt of pig iron, increasing 121 percent compared to the same period of 2010, with an average import price of $534/mt.

Turkey's top pig iron source in January-November 2011 was Ukraine which exported 418,347 mt of pig iron to Turkey, with an increase of 134 percent year on year, followed by Russia which exported 400,587 mt of pig iron to Turkey, up 91.3 percent compared to January-November 2010.
