Turkey’s Isdemir continues solar power plant projects

Turkey’s Ministry of Environment and Urbanization has announced that the environmental impact assessment (EIA) application made by Turkish steelmaker İskenderun Demir Çelik A.Ş. (İsdemir) for its solar power plant project in Şırnak has been examined and that the environmental impact assessment process has begun.

With an investment cost of TRY 495.31 million ($14.96 million), a total of 65,448 solar panels will be installed. The power plant, which will be built with a power capacity of 25 MWe, is anticipated to annually produce 53.09 million kWh of energy. The lifespan of the project will be 30 years.

In addition, İsdemir will install 65,475 solar panels within the scope of the solar power plant in Kütahya, which will have a power capacity of 25 MW with an investment of TRY 495.5 million ($14.97 million). The plant is planned to annually produce approximately 51 million kWh of electricity and is expected to have a lifespan of 25 years.
