Turkish long steel producer Icdas has announced that it has commissioned its first coastal trading vessel on September 20, adding that it is building four more similar vessels within the scope of the same project.
Capable of shipping loads up to 5,000 tons, the new vessel named ‘Turk Yildizi - 1' is designed to carry dry bulk cargoes, special loads and containers as well. Having a length of 83.3 meters, the new vessel is said to be available for containerized scrap shipping, when rates are considered to be attractive.
