Turkey’s HRC exports decline in November

In November 2014, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by 13.9 percent year on year to 83,070 metric tons, while falling by 28.7 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $51.02 million, down 7.9 percent year on year and decreasing by 27.8 percent compared to October.

Meanwhile, in the January-November period of last year, Turkey's HRC exports decreased by 4.16 percent to 1.15 million mt, while the value of these exports fell 5.2 percent to $676.5 million, both on year-on-year basis.

In the first 11 months, the US ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, increasing its HRC imports from Turkey by nine-fold  (up 840.7 percent) year on year to 328,912 mt, while Turkey's HRC exports to Canada, increased from 49 mt to 139,692 mt, year on year. In November alone, Canada ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, receiving 47,871 mt.
