In April this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by 43.47 percent year on year to 113,171 metric tons, while decreasing by 20.98 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $65.64 million, decreasing by 46.44 percent year on year and down by 21.03 percent compared to March.
Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year, Turkey's HRC exports decreased by 19.21 percent to 448,684 mt, while the value of these exports fell 31.04 percent to $260.51 million, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first four months, the US ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, increasing its HRC imports from Turkey by 171.56 percent year on year to 80,498 mt, while Turkey's HRC exports to Italy, which was the leading destination in 2013, decreased by 73.86 percent year on year to 77,299 mt. In the given period, Turkey's HRC exports to Portugal decreased by 48.68 year on year to 45,273 mt.
