In June this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 30.55 percent year on year to 137,141 metric tons, while rising by 30.16 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $79.70 million, increasing by 27.22 percent year on year and up by 29.14 percent compared to May.
Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, Turkey's HRC exports decreased by 21.12 percent to 683,679 mt, while the value of these exports fell 23.35 percent to $396.5 million, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first half, the US ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, increasing its HRC imports from Turkey by 396.22 percent year on year to 172,415 mt, while Turkey's HRC exports to Italy, which was the leading destination in 2013, decreased by 72.79 percent year on year to 95,659 mt. In the given period, Turkey's HRC exports to Portugal decreased by 55.91 year on year to 53,468 mt.
