In July this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by 4.2 percent year on year to 90,316 metric tons, while decreasing by 34.1 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $51.34 million, decreasing by 6.3 percent year on year and down by 35.6 percent compared to June.
Meanwhile, in the January-July this year, Turkey's HRC exports decreased by 19.4 percent to 773,993 mt, while the value of these exports fell 21.6 percent to $447.84 million, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first seven months, the US ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, increasing its HRC imports from Turkey by 483.41 percent year on year to 202,710 mt, while Turkey's HRC exports to Italy, which was the leading destination in 2013, decreased by 73.19 percent year on year to 104,688 mt. In the given period, Turkey's HRC exports to Portugal decreased by 62.47 year on year to 53,468 mt.
