In September this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 163.8 percent year on year to 111,333 metric tons, while rising by 51.2 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $65.9 million, increasing by 169.1 percent year on year and up by 47.2 percent compared to August.
Meanwhile, in the January-September this year, Turkey's HRC exports decreased by 9.4 percent to 957,710 mt, while the value of these exports fell 10.9 percent to $557.47 million, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first nine months, the US ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, increasing its HRC imports from Turkey by 722.74 percent year on year to 316,655 mt, while Turkey's HRC exports to Italy, which was the leading destination in 2013, decreased by 72.92 percent year on year to 110,573 mt. In the given period, Turkey's HRC exports to Portugal decreased by 69.32 year on year to 53,468 mt.
