The World Trade Organization’s Dispute Settlement Body has announced that it has formally adopted the panel and Appellate Body reports in a case brought by Turkey regarding antidumping measures imposed by Morocco on imports of certain hot rolled steel products from Turkey.

This decision means that Morocco’s 11 percent antidumping duty on Turkish HRC exports will be removed, but the official statement from Morocco is yet to be received.

Despite this victory, no change is expected in Turkish HRC exports to Morocco as there is a 25 percent safeguard duty in place, SteelOrbis understands.

The safeguard duty was introduced in October 2019 for a period of 200 days.
