The Russian pipe producer TMK Group (TMK) has announced the commissioning of a new 650,000 mt HAEUSLER mill at its subsidiary Volzhsky Pipe Plant, for the production of large diameter longitudinal welded pipes.

The new mill, supplied by Swiss-based machine manufacturer HAEUSLER AG, is designed to produce longitudinal welded pipes of up to X100 grade with diameters ranging from 530 mm to 1,420 mm and wall thickness of up to 42 mm, and will allow TMK to double Volzhsky's large diameter capacity to 1.2 million mt of pipes per year.

In addition, the mill is equipped with exterior anticorrosion coating capacities for longitudinal and spiral welded pipes with diameters ranging from 508 to 1,422 mm and wall thickness between 7 and 48 mm, and with a further 600,000 mt of interior smooth coating capacity for pipes with diameters ranging from 508 to 1420 mm and wall thickness between 9 and 48 mm.

Production certification and qualification with Russia's largest oil and gas companies is underway, with shipments scheduled to begin by the end of the current month of November.
