Taiwan’s basic metal output index down 6.3 percent in Jan-Sept

Taiwan's manufacturing industrial production index in September this year rose by 3.1 percent year on year and was down 4.5 percent as compared to August, while in the first nine months of the current year the country's manufacturing production fell 1.7 percent year on year, according to the provisional data released by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).

In September, production of the basic metal industry in Taiwan decreased five percent from the previous month, and was down 9.6 percent compared to the same month last year. On the other hand, in the first nine months of this year, the country's output of basic metals fell by 6.3 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in September Taiwan's fabricated metal product output fell by 7.8 percent month on month and was down 9.9 percent year on year. In the January-September period of this year, the country's fabricated metal product output fell by 5.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
