Taiwan’s basic metal output index down 9.6 percent in July

Taiwan's manufacturing industrial production index in July this year fell by 0.3 percent year on year and was up 3.65 percent as compared to June, while in the first seven months of the current year the country's manufacturing production decreased by 2.8 percent year on year, according to the provisional data released by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).

In July, production of the basic metal industry in Taiwan decreased 9.6 percent compared to the same month last year, and was down 5.3 percent from the previous month. On the other hand, in the first seven months of this year, the country's output of basic metals fell by 5.25 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in July Taiwan's fabricated metal product output rose by 1.2 percent month on month and was down 2.7 percent year on year. In the January-July period of this year, the country's fabricated metal product output fell by four percent compared to the same period last year.
