Taiwan's manufacturing industrial production index in August this year fell by 4.3 percent year on year and was down 3.5 percent as compared to July, while in the first eight months of the current year the country's manufacturing production remained unchanged year on year, according to the provisional data released by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
In August, production of the basic metal industry in Taiwan increased 1.06 percent from the previous month, and was down 11.9 percent compared to the same month last year. On the other hand, in the first eight months of this year, the country's output of basic metals fell by six percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in August Taiwan's fabricated metal product output rose by 0.36 percent month on month and was down 7.3 percent year on year. In the January-August period of this year, the country's fabricated metal product output fell by 4.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
