Structure collapses at CSN iron ore facility, no casualties reported

A structure at the iron ore division of Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) collapsed today at the Brazilian Port of Itaguai, according to media reports. No casualties were reported at the time of the incident.

The structured affected was a coal forklift of CSN Mineração Tecar, collapsing at the port’s cargo terminal. CSN said the cause of the incident is being investigated.

CSN Mineração is the iron ore arm of CSN. CSN Mineração is Brazil’s second largest iron ore producer after Vale.
