SSWL to increase Chennai plant’s output capacity

Indian steel rim producer Steel Strips Wheels Ltd (SSWL) has announced that it will increase the annual capacity of its Chennai plant in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu by four million wheels by March 2011.

The company said that the decision is to cater to the fast growing demand for steel wheel rims in the export and domestic markets, adding that the expansion shall be at a total cost of INR 600 million ($13.14 million).
