South Africa seeks to attract Chinese investments in mining

The embassy of South Africa in China recently organized a forum in collaboration with Beijing International Mining Exchange in Tianjin, China regarding Sino-South African collaboration in mining of coal and iron ore in South Africa.

The mining companies of South Africa present at the forum recommended mining projects with development potential to Chinese companies.

Peets Moroto, deputy governor of Limpopo Province, South Africa, said that they welcomed investment by Chinese enterprises in the mining industry of the province and that they were also willing to improve the investment environment and infrastructure in order to promote mining project collaborations between South Africa and China.

On the other hand, Dong Bin, president of Beijing International Mining Exchange, stated, "Beijing International Mining Exchange will strengthen mutual collaboration with relevant institutions in Limpopo Province through professional services in order to help."
