Chinese steelmaker Shougang Shuicheng Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd has published its production results for the second quarter of the current year.
In the second quarter, the steelmaker produced 827,927mt of pig iron, 13,730 mt above target and up 4.74 percent year on year, while its crude steel output reached 844,708 mt, 20,401 mt above target and up 4.17 percent year on year.
In addition, the mill's finished steel output in the second quarter was 836,062mt, 37,768 mt above target with high-tech and high-value added finished steel output totaling 345,262 mt, which constitutes 40.87 percent of the total finished steel output.
In the period in question, coke usage per metric ton of crude steel produced was 369 kg, 16 kg lower than the target and down 6 kg year on year, while coal usage was 158 kg, 28 kg above target and up 22 kg year on year.
